Job Overview
The new 11,000 square metre school building will feature 37 General Classrooms, a 2-classroom SEN facility, 2 DCG Rooms, 6 Science Labs, 2 Art/Craft Rooms, 2 Home Economics Rooms, 2 Technology Rooms, 2 Multimedia Labs, a Music Room, 2 Textile Rooms, a Construction Studies room, an Engineering Room, a Library, an Olympic-sized PE Hall and Fitness Suite, multiple ancillary spaces, and extensive external areas including 6 Hard Play Courts.
Key Challenges
Each classroom and indoor areas such as corridors, requires adequate ventilation at high level and the client was looking for a caron neutral economical solution for this.
Our Solution
WDACC offered up our Telflex manual winding gear. 380mm chain mechanism will be fitted to each opening (2no per vent over 950mm, due to compression reasons / air tests) The Midi Operator will be fitted approx. 1400mm from FFL to centre of the handle. The conduit and cable linking the operators to the windows will be bent to the required degrees (max of 3no 90deg bends) and fixed in place using the wall saddles.
Each of the classroom have three opening vents, each vent is opened using our 380mm chain mechanisms offering up 1.386mtrs Geometric free area of high level comfort ventilation.
